For Native Americans, feathers represent a gift from the Great Spirit as well as the bird itself which, when presenting us with a feather, offers us a part of its essence. Natives as well as other people, have long known the medicinal and curative powers of bird feathers. They use them as tools to bring forth the energy of healing to a wounded or sick person, for they are known to capture and distribute positive powers.
