The Navajos - Indians of the High Plains - usually craft turquoise stone in its most natural shape, larger and rougher, in order to bring out the most striking jewellery. According to the Ancients, who granted it magical powers, the sterling silver and its sublime composition was created to bear the turquoise stone like a sacrament.
For Native Americans, feathers represent a gift from the Great Spirit as well as the bird itself which, when presenting us with a feather, offers us a part of its essence. Natives as well as other people, have long known the medicinal and curative powers of bird feathers. They use them as tools to bring forth the energy of healing to a wounded or sick person, for they are known to capture and distribute positive powers. Feathers are symbols of peace and freedom of spirit.
